Teams & Matches

Our teams take part in a number of competitions during the cricket season. This ensures that everyone has get a chance to play and enjoy competitive cricket.

Juniors

We field teams at under 9, u11, u13, u15 and u16 age groups. Junior matches are usually 20 overs a side and are played on Sunday mornings.

Fees:

  • Membership: £50 (covers the weekly training sessions and makes the player eligible for selection in matches)
  • Match fee: £2 (covers the match ball, pitch hire and refreshments and is payable for each match the player takes part in)

Seniors

Our Saturday 1st XI will play the 2020 season in the Shepherd Neame Essex League 1st XI Division 3.

Our other Saturday XIs play in the Essex County Cricket League, with a Newham Cricket Club team in every division (Premier, 1st and 2nd divisions). These matches are 45 overs-a-side, start at 12:30pm with lunch is provided during the innings break. You can view the league fixtures on our Play-Cricket fixtures page.

Our Saturday 1st and 2nd XI also takes part in a T20 cup competition and a 40-over cup competition run by the Essex County Cricket League. These matches take place on weekday evenings.

Our two Sunday XIs play in the National Cricket League.

Fees:

  • Membership: £120 (covers the weekly training sessions and makes the player eligible for selection in matches). Please note that this fee only covers the players for one team, additional fees apply should you wish to play for both Saturday and Sunday teams.
  • Match fee: £10 (covers the match-day facilities such as balls, pitch hire, drinks and lunch and is payable for each match the player takes part in)
  • Reduced fees apply to those in full-time education or under the age of 21, please enquire with your captain at training
