Volunteer

Newham Cricket Club is a community organisation run by volunteers. Without the help of local people, we would not be able to offer local cricket to the youth and adults of Newham and East London.

We welcome your support in any capacity and we will be truly grateful if you could help us. You will be helping us nurture the vast amount of cricketing talent we have in our area.

Volunteers in the past have told us that they found helping the club incredibly rewarding. They’ve seen a group of players go from shy strangers at the start of the season to a well-bonded team that competes at a high level in just a few months.

Volunteers are not bound to strict commitments, we understand that people have their own lives and like to help out every now and then. You never know, you might help discover someone who goes on to play at the highest level!

Some of the things we need help with are:

  • Youth team management – helping the coaches run training sessions and organising the teams for their matches
  • Umpiring – we will help you become a qualified umpire so that you can be at the centre of our matches, helping the players make the most of their competitive fixtures.
  • Scoring – we can offer training, resources and support so that you can help us keep an accurate record of the matches.
  • Club committee – help the club make the decisions that will assist in our ambitions to be the hub of cricket in East London.

We hope that you find one (or more) of these roles interesting. Please contact us if you would like to get involved and we promise to make it worth your time. Thank you!
