We are delighted to share the news that our application to join the Shepherd Neame Essex League (SNEL) has been accepted. The club will be entering one team into the SNEL from next season – April 2020.
This is a major step forward for the club in terms of offering high quality league cricket to its members.
Alongside the achievement of Clubmark status this has capped an excellent year for the club off the pitch.
We are proud to announce that Newham Cricket Club has received the ECB Clubmark accreditation.
ECB Clubmark shows that our club is sustainable, well-run and provides the right environment for its members.
Clubmark accreditation also means that our club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages, as well as assuring parents and carers that they are choosing the right option for their young people.

Newham Cricket Club celebrates their new electronic scoreboard.
Tariq Aslam, Adults Manager, said: “This is the culmination of a vision of first class facilities for Newham Cricketers in their own community.”
The club would like to thank its staff, members and the neighbours who helped install the scoreboard. We excitedly look forward to using our new electronic scoreboard for the visit of the Essex County Cricket teams to the Newham Cricket Festival on 28 August 2017.
We’d like to share some photos of the scoreboard below.
Hi all, we are part of the “Tesco Bags of Help” programme where we are applying for funds to enable us to install an electronic scoreboard. This will enhance the quality of cricket we can offer to the Newham community.
What you need to do – pop into any of the Tesco stores mentioned below, collect a charity token and put it in the Newham Cricket Club drop box near the checkouts. The more tokens we get the more likely it is that we will receive the funds we need!

Nearly £700 was raised on Saturday 22 April in a charity fundraiser played on Mitcham Cricket Green, one of the oldest cricket squares in the world. Hosted by Mitcham Cricket Club, a Combined Charities XI invited Newham Cricket Club to Mitcham to help raise vital funds in memory of a local resident from South London who passed away following a fight with pancreatic cancer last year.
In the end the match was won comfortably by Newham Cricket Club who scored 169 runs from 30 overs, whilst the Combined Charities XI – a mixture of friends and local players from a variety of local clubs (including Old Rutlishians Cricket Club and Old Emanuel Cricket Club) – responded with 77.
The fundraiser raised more than £700 for charity, which included player and spectator donations, catering and a raffle. The funds raised have been donated to Pancreatic Cancer UK and St John Ambulance.
Donations can still be made to support the fundraising efforts, which have also included running the London Marathon. Please visit uk.virginmoneygiving.com/JamesMcCollum for more information on how to donate.
